Colin Stewart is one of the leading municipal solicitors in British Columbia. Since his call to the BC Bar in 1987, Colin has had extensive and varied experience in advising local governments on the broad range of legal issues affecting them, including review and drafting of planning bylaws and related agreements. In addition to advising local government clients, he has served on committees advising the provincial government on changes to legislation, including the Municipal Act Reform advisory committee. Colin is a frequent lecturer on local government law for various professional organizations and colleges and taught the Local Government Law course with the University of Victoria's Diploma Programme in Public Administration. He also served on the executive of the Municipal Law Section of the B.C. Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, including a term as its Chair, and with Guy McDannold is the co-author of the Commentary contained in the Lexis-Nexis Canada publication British Columbia Municipal Law and Commentary.
