Staples McDannold Stewart is a firm devoted to providing legal and administrative services to local governments in British Columbia, Canada. We established the firm in 1988 with the primary goal of providing a full range of expert legal services to our local government clientele at a reasonable cost.

Our aim is to be the best municipal law firm in BC - not the biggest firm offering municipal law services, but the firm providing the best value to local governments.

We have six partners: Lorena Staples QC, Guy McDannold, Colin Stewart, Robert Macquisten Kathryn Stuart and Peter Johnson, and six associates: Troy DeSouza, Lui Carvello, David Pilling, Robert Peterson, Michael Hargraves and Maja Stupar. Our lawyers have spent almost all of their years in practice in local government law and related fields.

We restrict our clientele to municipalities, regional districts, health authorities, provincial government ministries and Crown corporations, and similar government clients, and concentrate on the municipal-related fields of law that concern them.

We are located in the beautiful City of Victoria, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada.
